ACHIEVEMENTS & GOALS
Achievements
Keep Evansville Beautiful has worked over the last several years to create a better quality of life for our city and we have succeeded in far reaching ways.
Our city streets have less litter on them thanks to a partnership with the city and Mayor Lloyd Winnecke. The first Saturday of each month we coordinate volunteers to help with litter abatement. So far we’ve gotten over 2 tons of litter off our streets.
Another element that KEB provides is education. Our celebrity mascots, EVIE and Vandy have educated more than 100,000 students about litter abatement and recycling. EVIE has also won several national awards for her anti-litter work.
We have beautified Evansville in many different ways. First we coordinated funding of the new sculpture at Evansville Regional Airport that welcomes thousands of travelers each year. We have had major clean-ups along highway 41 with the Indiana Department of Transportation and planted hundreds of trees along Highway 41 in addition to a new fence to cover CSX property. This is in addition to the planting of many flowers and shrubs too.
After many years of discussion KEB installed beautiful planters on Main St. that are filled with seasonal flowers and plants. And we installed the mural on Highway 41 coming in from Henderson, KY.

Goals
Keep Evansville Beautiful is working toward educating a new generation of environmental leaders. This is being done through our Green Teen Council. This group of middle school and high school students are figuring out problems Evansville faces and working on solutions.
KEB’s goal is to continue work on improving the entry ways into our community with a special focus on Highway 41.
We want to continue to plant more trees and shrubs.
We want to start recycling efforts AND…..STOP littering in our city!
We need you to help us reach our goals.
